The Astrophysics Research Centre (ARC) is a centre that focuses on research in Astrophysics and Cosmology and, in particular, radio astronomy. ARC, in partnership with the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) is offering bursary opportunities to second year BSc (Maths and/or Physics and/or Astronomy) students.
The funding will begin in 2024 and will be renewable until the end of the BSc or the BSc Honours degree. The annual renewal of the bursary is dependent on academic performance. The criteria we are looking for: · Currently registered for a BSc M Stream degree on the UKZN Westville Campus with majors in Applied Maths and/or Physics and/or Astronomy
• Excellent results in the first year of study.
• An interest in the field of Astrophysics and a potential interest in pursuing postgraduate studies in this field.
